Fun Facts About Me
Favorite thing about being a real estate agent?
The most rewarding part of being a real estate agent is knowing that I helped get that person into a home they love. That is the place they will go back to rest their head every night. They will invite their friends and family over and decorate it to make it their own. It's an investment in their future and typically the largest purchase they may make in their life. It is just exciting knowing I can help people make something that feels impossible, POSSIBLE.
Favorite feature you've seen in a home?
I love it when the kitchen has a large bar area that opens up to the living area. I know how much I enjoy this because when my family and friends are over they want to gather in the kitchen where you will find me and the action and this just makes it more comfortable to visit.
Your dream vacation?
All inclusive resort, 80 degrees, with a beach and clear water, with dancing, and lots of activities. Play by day and get dressed up and party by night!
Interesting fact most people don't know about you?
I grew up in Ventura, California and was a Patagonia kid. My mom worked there in the early days and I grew up in the company. It definitely left its impression on me!
Your nickname growing up?
I never really had a nickname growing up but people would call me Red for my Strawberry Blonde hair.
As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Growing up I really wanted to be a pilot for an airline. I did a lot of traveling on planes growing up and loved it. When I got to high school my dream changed when I realized I was good at art. I went to the University of California at Davis and earned my Studio Art Degree then attended San Francisco State University and earned my teaching credential so I could teach art. I knew I could help kids stay in school if they had a teacher and class they loved. I taught high school art for 23 years in California and South Carolina while raising my 4 kids. I dreamed of being a real estate agent when I moved to North Carolina because I loved house hunting. My dream was delayed until my kids were grown but now I get to live my dream!
What's your hidden talent?
Not so sure my talent is hidden but you would never know looking at me that I am good at art. My best is pencil work but I also paint as well. A lot of my clients have received a watercolor painting of their new home!
